Upgrading and protection works at the Sheikh Ajleen (Gaza Central) Wastewater Treatment Plant for CMWU under the KfW-funded Gaza Central Water and Wastewater Project. MACC was the main contractor; contract value EUR 908,196.

MACC's scope

  • Reinforced-concrete boundary beams around treatment ponds 1 and 2, and repairs to stairs and landings
  • DN1000 bypass line (70 m) allowing ponds 3 and 4 to be bypassed
  • Repair of up to 100 m of the 20-inch treated-effluent sea outfall line
  • Drying-beds operators' room and a new CMWU operations and store building
  • 600 kVA supplementary diesel generator and 30 pole-mounted site lights
