The desalination plant is designed with a capacity of 6,000 m³/day and is intended to serve about 75,000 people in two target areas: “Tal al-Sultan” in the Rafah governorate and “Al-Amal” in the Khan Younis governorate. The 6,000 m³ of desalinated water will be transferred to two storage tanks located in the two target areas, where treated water will be blended with an approximately equal quantity of municipal water. The Mediterranean Sea will be used as the water source. The subsystems of the plant are beach well transfer, multimedia filters, reverse osmosis, clean-in-place, remineralization and neutralization.
